Healthy People

Have illness or health problems forced you to ask the question, “What am I going to do to nourish my body?”

Been there, done that.

12 years ago, we were both diagnosed with Lyme disease.

We were forced to change our diets because our happiness and sanity depended on it.

For the past 10 years, we’ve eaten lots of vegetables, and they’ve come almost exclusively from our farm.

Yup, that’s right. That means we eat almost nothing from California!

Eating fresh, in-season vegetables has been key to maintaining our health.

We’re Laverne and Julie Glick. And we’re passionate about healing and about growing-nutrient dense food that heals our bodies while also healing the land.

That’s why we farm using regenerative practices, practices that renew the land’s ability to sustain nutrient-dense food for generations to come rather than degrade it like many farms today.

These practices include…

  • No synthetic pesticides or herbicides or chemical fertilizers
  • Disturbing the soil as little as possible in order to protect the earthworms and soil microbes
  • Keeping the soil covered as much as possible using compost, mulch, and cover crops that help feed the soil microbes
  • Using a nutrition-first approach to help plants fight disease. Simply put, that means we respond to problems first not by fighting the problem directly but by feeding the plant so it can be healthy enough to fight the problem itself.

And since healthier plants mean more nutrition and taste, that means when you eat our veggies, you support your own health, a cleaner environment, a stronger local economy, AND you eat better tasting food all in one fell swoop!
